From parents for parents: Our path to Isle of Dogs Design

Sometimes the most beautiful stories begin with a simple wish: the desire to dedicate all of our energy and passion to something meaningful—something that connects, that lasts, that makes everyday life more beautiful. We wanted to use our parental leave to do just that: to create something that is functional, loving, and at the same time suitable for everyday use—for our children and parents alike.

And as luck would have it, while searching for a nursery for our daughter, we stumbled upon the wonderful brand Isle of Dogs Design . It was the beginning of a little love story, because in 2024, we were offered the unique opportunity to continue this lovingly run children's furniture company after 25 years of existence. And so began our journey with Isle of Dogs Design and the fulfillment of our greatest wish: to preserve this brand and develop it further with great passion, thus making everyday life more beautiful for many families.

From the very beginning, it was particularly important to us to preserve the Isle of Dogs Design DNA – with everything that has always made this brand so special: high-quality materials, timelessly simple design, furniture that grows with the child, and the loving hand-painting that makes each piece a unique, personal creation. We work passionately every day to carry on these values ​​– while carefully evolving them. New furniture, new shapes, new motifs, enhanced by many fine details that make the special something visible and tangible.

We never lose sight of what truly matters: reliability . Our furniture is not just meant to look beautiful, but also to accompany children and their families through everyday life – stable, safe, and, of course, free from harmful substances. That's why we use only high-quality materials, certified solid wood, water-based paints and varnishes, and focus on thoughtful designs that grow with children and give parents peace of mind.

As a family business, we take responsibility – for our furniture, for the families who use it, and for the world in which it is created. Our furniture is crafted from solid wood from certified sustainable forestry, produced in Europe, and finished with water-based , safe paints. We love our timeless style, which exudes peace and security, and we value the opportunity to customize each piece. This creates children's rooms that are not only beautiful, but also meaningful, and memories that last.

The name Isle of Dogs might sound a little playful – and that's exactly what it is. For us, it represents a place full of imagination, security, and childhood. A small island where children can simply be children – curious, free, wild, dreamy. And where beautiful things can be created that will last.

What many don't know: The name goes back to the founder, who launched the label over 25 years ago. It was named after her favorite island in Great Britain—a very personal place of longing that represented peace, creativity, and home for her.

We are continuing to develop this idea today: Isle of Dogs is intended to be a place that appeals to families, exudes familiarity, and creates spaces that are not just functional, but also emotional and meaningful.
